Alpine Center raises its flag in Goa, India
Alpine Center raised its flag at the International Cruises Culinary Academy (ICCA) in Goa, India. ICCA’s President & CEO, Mr Geffrey D’Souza was introduced to Alpine by alumnus Jordan Illiadis who arranged a visit to Alpine Center in March 2008. Consequently, an Agreement of Cooperation was signed between Alpine Center and ICCA for the validation of a Diploma Course in Culinary Arts and to enable Alpine Center to provide the qualification of its Diploma to candidates who successfully complete two years of study in this specialization. ICCA agrees to implement fully the quality assurance procedures made known to it annually by Alpine Center. Representatives of Alpine will visit ICCA periodically to monitor the learning and operation of the institution in Goa.
In April Alpine’s Executive Chef, Mr Rudi Luetolf arrived in Goa and delivered a two week train the trainer course to ICCA’s chef instructors. Earlier this month Alpine’s Vice President, Mr Eric Hofmann paid a visit to the school and officially launched the course.
ICCA’s aim is to provide the global cruise industry, which is growing very rapidly, with well trained staff including cooks. Those aspiring for further studies will transfer to Alpine’s campus to complete the requirements of a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, validated by the University of Wales, UK.
